DEVELOPMENT PLAN - 2022-2024

INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND

1. The current Development Plan, 2020-2022, was drafted by the Chair and Professional Religious Education Adviser and shared with Members for comment, prior to being finalised.  Progress against the priorities is regularly reported to SACRE.

2. The Plan contains three Priorities, with the intended impact of each priority; associated targets and actions.

3. The priorities are:-

Priority 1: Implementation of the Locally Agreed Syllabus

Priority 2: To operate effectively as a SACRE

Priority 3: Active links between SACRE and the Local Authority

4. The Plan now needs to be refreshed for the period 2022-2024.

5. The proposed process is that a small Task and Finish Group be established – ideally, comprising one representative from each of the four Groups on SACRE –  with appropriate support from officers – to develop a revised Plan and report back its findings to the meeting of SACRE on 21^st June 2022.

6 In terms of commitment, it is anticipated that one meeting (two maximum), lasting for approximately one hour, will suffice.  The meeting(s) would be held remotely and the time arranged for the attendees convenience.  It would also be helpful if Members of the Task and Finish Group could attend the virtual training course run by NASACRE on 15^th March 2022, from 7.00 p.m. until 8.00 p.m.

RECOMMENDATIONS

7. That a Task and Finish Group be established to refresh the Development Plan for 2022-2024 and report back to SACRE on 21^st June.

8. That nominations be made to the afore-mentioned Group.
